Taxonomy
Anomia lawrenciana was named by de Koninck (1863). It is the type species of Richthofenia.

It was recombined as Richthofenia lawrenciana by Waagen (1885), Grabau (1931), Reed (1944), Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960), Termier and Termier (1970) and Kotlyar (1989).
