Taxonomy
Inaria karli was named by Gehling (1988). Its type specimen is SAMP27913 and is a cast. Its type locality is Eastern Chance Range of the Central Flinders Ranges, which is in an Ediacaran transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone/claystone in the Rawnsley Quartzite Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Inaria.
