It was corrected as Ciidae by Lawrence and Newton (1995), Bouchard et al. (2011) and Cai et al. (2022).

It was assigned to Heteromera by Crowson (1981); and to Tenebrionoidea by Lawrence and Newton (1995), Bouchard et al. (2011) and Cai et al. (2022).
