Strombus haitensis was named by Sowerby (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Lobatus haitensis by Landau et al. (2008) and Freiheit and Geary (2009).
