Hylerpeton dawsoni

Taxonomy
Hylerpeton dawsoni was named by Owen (1862). Its type specimen is BMNH R4180, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Coal Mine Point; Divison 4, Section XV, coal-group 15, which is in a Westphalian A mire/swamp sandstone/coal in the Joggins Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Hylerpeton.

It was corrected as Hylerpeton dawsonii by Hay (1902).
