Ultrapithecus rutilans
Taxonomy
Ultrapithecus rutilans was named by Ameghino (1901). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Ultrapithecus.
