It was assigned to Geniohyidae by Matsumoto (1926); to Pliohyracidae by Rasmussen and Simons (1988), Carroll (1988); to Saghatheriinae by Sudre (1979), Prothero and Schoch (1989); and to Saghatheriidae by Andrews (1906), Rasmussen and Gutiérrez (2010).
