It was recombined as Lagurus curtatus by Thomas (1912), Borell and Ellis (1934), Hall (1946), Kelson (1951), Hall and Cockrum (1953), Dearden and Lee (1955), Kurten and Anderson (1980) and Hall (1981); it was recombined as Microtus curtatus by Anthony (1913); it was recombined as Lemmiscus curtatus by Goldman (1941) and Wood and Barnosky (1994).
