Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, fine-grained limestone and lithified, nodular, black chert

• "Resistant, compact, aphanitic and finely crystalline limestone, locally dolomitized within 30 feet of the top. Aphanitic beds crudely laminated. Scattered black chert nodules and stringers increasing in number toward bottom."
