Environment/lithology: deep subtidal; lithified limestone

• The lower and middle parts of the Eiberg Member (units 1–3) show a further deepening to about 50–100 m followed by a regressive tendency towards the top of the Kössen Formation (unit 4). The lower unit 2 of the Eiberg Member was therefore most probably deposited in a deeper subtidal environment close to the storm wave base.
