Where: Texas (33.6° N, 99.3° W: paleocoordinates 0.2° S, 30.0° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Cisuralian (298.9 - 273.0 Ma)
• According to Romer (1942), the specimen cannot be Triassic because (1) there are no Triassic beds within 100 miles of Seymour, (2) no limestone strata are recorded in the Texas Triassic, (3) Boll never worked in Triassic regions, and (4) fossiliferous Triassic beds were not discovered until years after Boll's death.
