When: Laventan mammal zone, Villavieja Formation (Honda Group), Laventan (13.8 - 11.0 Ma)

• between Upper and Lower red bed mbrs

•The Honda Group is constrained by radiometric and paleomagnetic evidence to between approximately 13.5 Ma–11.8 Ma (Flynn et al., 1996; Guerrero, 1996; Madden et al., 1996).

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; poorly lithified, fine-grained, gray sandstone

• Fine gray poorly consolidated sandstone
