When: Biblian Formation, Aquitanian (23.0 - 20.4 Ma)

• Bristow (1973) and Bristow and Parodiz (1982) described andesitic lavas at or near the contact between the Biblian Formation and the overlying Loyola formation, and reported two K-Ar whole rock determinations of 19.7 +/-0.5 and 21.0 +/- 0.6 Ma for one of this lavas outcropping near Descanso on the east side of the CUenca Basin. The Descanso andesite is consider to correspond to the upppermost Biblian formations.
