• "The “Sítio Paleontológico dos Gaviões” (i.e., “Hawk's paleontological site”) is less than 1 km from the city. It was discovered in 2002 and yielded an isolated theropod pelvis that was removed and then studied by Méndez et al. (2014). Other four excavations carried out during 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2014 in the same quarry (Fig. 1), an area of approximately 10 m2, resulted in the discovery of more elements that are here described." - Iori et al.
