• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Ware Formation, which unconformably overlies the Castilletes Formation (Middle Miocene). AGE: late Pliocene, on the basis of macrofaunal composition and Sr-isotope dating by enterer. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From near top of "Ware" Formation; from 463 m above Jimol/Castilletes contact.
