Weglinek (W6-20, W6-21) (Miocene of Poland)

Where: Poland (50.8° N, 22.1° E: paleocoordinates 51.2° N, 20.9° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Badenian (13.7 - 12.7 Ma)

• Most likely upper Badenian based on investigations of planktic foraminifera (Szczechura 1982, Szczechura & Pisera 1986)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; poorly lithified, shelly/skeletal, red marl

• the sediments "surround and partly cover the algal-vermetid reefs"
• Also red-algal marls rich in bryozoan fragments, surrounding and partly covering the algal-vermetid reefs towards the south, yielded numerous brachiopods.

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
