Robert’s Bonebed (Cretaceous to of Sudan)

Where: River Nile, Sudan (16.7° N, 33.4° E: paleocoordinates 0.7° N, 27.6° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Shendi Formation, Campanian to Campanian (83.6 - 66.0 Ma)

• Agyemang et al. 2019 U-Pb detrital zircon analyses provided a likely depositional age of the Wadi Milk formation as Campanian–Maastrichtian and the Wadi Milk Formation was likely a correlative unit to the Shendi Formation. Recent palynological work by Eisawi et al. (2012) and Eisawi (2015) on the subsurface part of the Shendi Formation however, indicates a much younger Campanian–Maastrichtian age.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: fluvial-lacustrine; sandstone

Size class: macrofossils

Collected in 2011; reposited in the MfN

Collection methods: surface (in situ),
