Cioclovina–Bănita area, MFT2—coral-spongemicroencruster boundstone (Jurassic to of Romania)

Where: Romania (45.5° N, 23.2° E: paleocoordinates 37.5° N, 30.2° E)

• coordinate stated in text

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Kimmeridgian to Kimmeridgian (157.3 - 145.0 Ma)

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; carbonate

• Platform margin environment—reef crest—shallow-water patch reefs. Crustose fabrics, biogenic encrustations and perforations; clotted, agglutinated and dome-shaped microbial microstructures, small cavities; the intra-reef sediment is mostly micritic; scarce geopetal structures; radiaxial- fibrous cements and late diagenetic druse/ mosaic spar occur locally
• Organic boundstone

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
