• Its stratigraphic position is considerably above that of the Pleasants member, characterized by Metaplacenticeras pacificum (Smith) found in this area by Popenoe. Numerous examples of the species are in the Academy of Sciences from the same area, colĀ lected by Stephen Bowers, associated with Metaplacenticeras bowersi n. sp.
