Environment/lithology: marine; sandstone and gray shale

• k!stant flysch, intercalated between the more resistant lower Calapuja [Caradocian], on which it rests conformably, and the Lampa Formation above. It is an alternating sequence of thin-bedded, fine-grained Sst and gray lutite. Sst:shale ratio about 1:3. Thin, carbonate lentils, some of which contain fossils are numerous, and some lentils contain cone-in-cone structures."
