Where: Sardinia, Italy (39.7° N, 8.5° E: paleocoordinates 61.5° S, 54.4° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Fluminimaggiore Formation, Ludlow (427.4 - 423.0 Ma)
• In this study, isolated blocks were correlated on basis of contained conodonts. Fluminimaggiore Fm., lower part of the Ludlow, above the M. colonus Biozone and below or contemporneous with the S. fristschi linearis Biozone; this is deduced from the known occurrences of all species in Bohemica [and apparently also partly on inferred phylogeny?]. Donigala Tectonic Subunit of the ARburese Unit; assignment to Fl. Formation is questioned.
• member-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lime mudstone and calcareous shale
•For this community: "dark micritic lenticular limestone, which originally formed a horizon in the calcareous shale."
Collection methods: Table 4 gives numerical abundances and inferred life habits of bivalves.
