When: Salada Formation, Pliocene (5.3 - 2.6 Ma)
• On Isla Carmen, the formation is exposed on both coasts, and is for the most part a soft, white, fossilifeous, sandstone weathering yellow, together with a small amount of soft, white, sandy shale. Posssibly outcrops described as Salada Fm are not all the same age, yet most appear to be Pliocene.
