When: Salt Wash Member (Morrison Formation), Late/Upper Kimmeridgian to Late/Upper Kimmeridgian (155.7 - 145.0 Ma)

• 3.6 m below the local "clay change" in the lower Brushy Basin, above the top of the Salt Wash Member.

Environment/lithology: "floodplain"; bioturbated, paleosol/pedogenic, concretionary, gray, carbonaceous mudstone

• "Fossils are generally encased in small carbonate nodules. These nodules are associated with root casts in a drab, gray mudstone indicating that the fossils were perserved b soil forming processes.""in the illitic clays"
