Also known as Mont des Ksours

Where: Adrar, Algeria (32.7° N, 0.8° E)

• Paleocoordinates: 25.3° N, 12.4° E (Wright 2013)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Continental Intercalaire Formation, Cenomanian (100.5 - 93.9 Ma)

• orig. suggested to be Albian; reassigned to Cenomanian based on fauna

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: delta plain; poorly lithified, lenticular, fine-grained, yellow, sandy sandstone and gypsiferous, red, sandy claystone

• "...soft sandy sandstones, very porous, with cross-stratification. Their color varies from pale yellow to brick red; the grain is rather fine, but the banks can present locally thicker passing lenses with rare quartz pebbles. Finally, one observes equally several intercalations of red sandy clay with traces of gypsum."
