• Feature 1 is the lowest of several features within fissue fill. "Two C14 dates from the Smilodon skeleton, one utilizing residual collagen in ri fragments, 9,410 +/- 155 years B.P. (I-6125), the second utilizing bone apatite from the humerus, 10,035 +/- 650 years B.P. (GX 2562), indicate a late Pleistocene age." (p. 85)
