Environment/lithology: shoreface; sandstone and siltstone
• Sediments described as "occasionally so abundantly fossiliferous as to form coquinas." In the vicinity of Ferrotepec Mine, the unit contains abundant wood, pebbles, and barnacles interpreted as lower-salinity intervals, suggesting a very proximal environment.
