• "The holotype of Sauropareion anoplus is preserved in a hard mudstone that necessitated mechanical preparation. This was accomplished by an airscribe that was used to remove the greater part of the matrix investing the skeleton, and pin vises with carbide steel-tips were used for finer work close to the bone surfaces. Owing to the small size of the postcranial elements, these have been prepared in dorsal aspect only, with underlying matrix left for support" (Modesto et al., 2007)
