• "Vokhmian Gorizont, Lower Triassic" (Spencer & Benton, 2000). Ivakhnenko (1974, Paleont. J. 8(3)) in the first description of Contritosaurus convector states: " [...] Lower Triassic, base of Vetluga Series." Both, the Vokhmian and the base of the Vetlugian correspond to the Induan stage of the international geologic time scale. Ivakhnenko (2008) also assigns this locality to the Induan.
