When: Crisnejas Formation, Early/Lower Albian (112.0 - 109.0 Ma)

• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: From the Crisnejas Fm, which locally overlies the Goyllarisquisga Fm (Early Cretaceous), and is overlain by the Pulluicana Gp (Albian-Cenomanian). AGE: Early Albian, on the basis of ammonite biostratigraphy and stratigraphic position; ? Oxytropidoceras carbonarium zone. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Collection from unit 20, a 1 m thick marl unit, in the lower portion of the section.

Environment/lithology: lithified, nodular, brown marl

• LITHOLOGY: Marl, light brown, slightly nodular, thin-bedded, very fossiliferous. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of facies description.
