Sister taxon: Mus longipes
Type specimen: NMNHU-P 41/5549, a tooth (l M1). Its type locality is Frunzovka-2, which is in a MN 14 terrestrial siliciclastic in Ukraine.
Ecology: saltatorial herbivore
Distribution: found only at Frunzovka-2
