Type specimen: FP1-2001-0564, a skull ( skull with P2-M1 in both dental series). Its type locality is Fonelas P-1, which is in a Gelasian fluvial horizon in the Guadix Formation of Spain.

Ecology: semifossorial carnivore-omnivore

Distribution: found only at Fonelas P-1
