Type specimen: CNHM (FMNH) UR 143, a partial skull (part of occipital-sphenoid-otic complex and side wall of skull). Its type locality is Locality KN (San Angelo Fm.), which is in a Kungurian/Roadian terrestrial shale/conglomerate in the San Angelo Formation of Texas.
