Sister taxa: Pitar (Lamelliconcha) avenalensis, Pitar (Lamelliconcha) crooki, Pitar (Lamelliconcha) joaquinensis, Pitar (Lamelliconcha) vertumni
Type specimen: UCMP 34910, a shell. Its type locality is UC S60, which is in the Eocene of sandstone/conglomerate Colombia.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at UC S60
