Sister taxon: Microcardiodon huemulensis

Type specimen: MPEF-PV 3500, a mandible (of left hemi-mandible with p4-m3.). Its type locality is El Petiso, which is in a Langhian terrestrial tuff in Argentina.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Miocene of Argentina (2 collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
