Sister taxon: Lipanorthis andinus

Type specimen: CEGH–UNC 20481a, a valve (External and internal molds of a dorsal valve). Its type locality is Abra de Santa Laura F-2, Sierra de Mojotoro, Floresta Formation, Jujuy, which is in a Tremadoc coastal sandstone/siltstone in the Floresta Formation of Argentina.
