Sister taxon: Lipanorthis santalaurae

Type specimen: CEGH–UNC 20443., a valve (External and internal molds of a ventral valve). Its type locality is Ch-6a. Quebrada Chalala, Purmamarca, which is in a Tremadoc offshore mudstone in the Coquena Formation of Argentina.
