Type specimen: OU 21982, a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton, including perfects and bullae). Its type locality is Hakataramea valley (I40/f177), which is in a Duntroonian marine sandstone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Hakataramea valley (I40/f177)
