Sister taxa: Heliscomys gregoryi, Heliscomys hatcheri, Heliscomys ostranderi, Heliscomys senex, Heliscomys vetus, Heliscomys walshi
Type specimen: UNSM 130496, a maxilla. Its type locality is Ridgeview, which is in a Geringian coarse channel fill conglomerate in Nebraska.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Ridgeview
