Type specimen: USNM 610600, a partial shell (interambulacral area fragment with associated spine). Its type locality is USNM728p, D-Ranch Road, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Capitanian slope limestone in the Bell Canyon Formation of Texas.
Ecology: slow-moving low-level epifaunal grazer-omnivore
