Sister taxon: Hypsimylus yihesubuensis
Type specimen: IVPP V5242-5243, a set of teeth. Its type locality is Gaodian, 1 km east of Changxindian, which is in an Eocene terrestrial conglomerate/claystone in the Changxindian Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling grazer-browser
Distribution: found only at Gaodian, 1 km east of Changxindian
