Sister taxa: Tataromys deflexus, Tataromys minor, Tataromys sigmodon
Type specimen: AMNH 19082, a maxilla. Its type locality is Loh, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Oligocene of China (11 collections), Mongolia (4)
Total: 15 collections each including a single occurrence
