Type specimen: UMNH VP5657, a tooth (left P4). Its type locality is Turtle Basin, which is in a Duchesnean terrestrial horizon in the "Brian Head" Formation of Utah.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at Turtle Basin
