Type specimen: MCZ 2985, a partial skeleton (partial skull, vertebrae + ribs, partial femur, partial tibia). Its type locality is Placerville Localities 11-13, which is in a Wolfcamp fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic/conglomerate in the Cutler Formation of Colorado.
