Type specimen: FMNH P51405, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Area 3, Pit 11, Peabody Coal Company, which is in a Moscovian marine shale in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.

Distribution: found only at Area 3, Pit 11, Peabody Coal Company
