Belongs to Acritoparamys according to Tong and Dawson 1995
Sister taxa: Acritoparamys atavus, Acritoparamys atwateri, Acritoparamys francesi, Acritoparamys pattersoni
Type specimen: IVPP V10692, a mandible. Its type locality is Changle Coal Mine, which is in an Eocene terrestrial coal in the Wutu Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Changle Coal Mine
