Type specimen: BSPG 1956 I 540, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Eckelsheim, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in the Alzey Formation of Germany.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore
Distribution: found only at Eckelsheim
