Sister taxon: Argyromys aralensis

Type specimen: NHMW 2015/0312/0001, a maxilla. Its type locality is Taatsiin Gol West, TGW-A/2a, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial mudstone in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Oligocene of China (2 collections), Mongolia (1)
