Sister taxon: Potamarchus murinus

Type specimen: UFAC-CS 11, a maxilla (palate with M1–M3). Its type locality is Cantagalo, which is in a Miocene fluvial-deltaic sandstone in the Solimões Formation of Brazil.

Distribution:
