Sister taxon: Hilarcotherium castanedaii

Type specimen: IGMp 881327, a mandible (partial mandible with left ramus bearing left m3, m2, canines, and alveoli for the incisors). Its type locality is STRI Loc. 470058 (Castilletes Fm), which is in a Burdigalian terrestrial sandstone in the Castilletes Formation of Colombia.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore
