Sister taxon: Chasichimys scagliai

Type specimen: MLP 60-VI-18-108, a mandible (fragmentary right mandible with intra-alveolar portion of il, ml and base of dp4.). Its type locality is Barrancas del Arroyo Chasicó, which is in a Chasicoan terrestrial horizon in the Arroyo Chasicó Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Huayquerian of Argentina (2 collections)

• Miocene of Argentina (2)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
